Since, I "really" started working on the family genealogy, history and
this site, about a year and half ago. I have found so many things and
people, and even hints and tips. Thanks to all for their help!
First,
I'd like to say that distant relatives have contacted me through email
and the various genealogy sites, from Australia, Canada, United States,
Honduras, Costa Rica and Panama.
I have dedicated an email
address to those who want to contact me, Kenneth Kwame Welsh, about the
genealogy on the various surnames listed at this site:

Welcome message
Welcome to the Family Foundation for the Welsh, Powell, Foster, Forrest, and Related families. We plan on starting our Jamaican activities in St. Elizabeth, and expand from there into other communities where our family members reside, including Foreign.
Rutty Family Reunion Jamaica 2012
As
the time approaches, maybe 4-6 months before the reunion we will start a
Reunion Group here similar to the one the Rutty Family did in 2012: https://www.facebook.com/ groups/204293179664619/
Rutty Family Reunion Jamaica 2012
- The Rutty Family and their Friends will "link up" Jamaica in August 2012 for rest, relaxation, and fun, fun, fun!
Friends of Trelawny Association (FOTA)
We need a new St. Elizabeth group similar to this one: Friends of Trelawny
Plus, we need to hook/link up with FOTA!
Friends of Trelawny Association (FOTA) was formally established in 2001 as a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation in the state
of New York, dedicated to the development of Trelawny, Jamaica. For the
past 31 years, founding members have organized an annual Memorial
Weekend reunion event in the New York / New Jersey metropolitan area,
which usually attracts some 8,000 members and supporters each year.
In recent years, FOTA has organized a Friday fundraising dinner dance
to kick off the weekend, a Saturday Business Symposium in NY to address
development and business opportunities in Trelawny.
The
organization consists of a network of 2,000 members from North America,
Canada, Jamaica and Europe, all of whom have a desire to improve the
parish of Trelawny.
A 9-member board runs the day-to-day operation of the organization.
Project idea/suggestion
Cousin Rose Welsh-Raymond
has been talking to family members about saving and preserving family
heirlooms, such as kitchenware, cookware, tools, and other implements
that have been used by the family from way back. These items/artifacts
then can be placed in the Family History Museum. I thought of Balaclava
as the most likely place. Let's talk about these ideas!
Welsh Family Foundation
We had discussed previously starting a Family foundation to assist family members to go to school and preserve the family culture and traditions; devise and build up family businesses for the Welsh/Welch/Walsh, Williams, Powell, Foster, and other families in Our clan. Those who have ideas for this and other family businesses, please add your ideas here.
